I’m a patent analyst, engineer, and entrepreneur—and the founder of Patent Hacks®. I also spent years on the inside of the system as a USPTO patent examiner, reviewing and evaluating patent applications firsthand.
That experience allows me to help inventors and founders cut through the confusion, avoid costly missteps, and approach patents with clarity and strategy—not guesswork.

General
Trevor Skene is an American patent analyst, engineer, and entrepreneur. He started his career working as a federally contracted patent examiner for the USPTO.
Founder
Trevor has founded two companies in the intellectual property space. Patent Hacks® and Trevor Skene Consulting, based in Arizona and Pennsylvania respectively.
Executive
Trevor is the Co-Founder and CEO of Patent Hacks® an intellectual property support company designed to make patenting and trademarking more affordable, actionable, and inclusive.
Examiner
Trevor began his career working for the USPTO reviewing PCT applications in the mechanical field. He has reviewed patent applications for some of the largest companies in the world.
Engineer
Trevor holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Physics from Wilkes University, located in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
Backstory
Trevor grew up in a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania and he's always had a knack for innovation and helping others. That's what led him to pursue engineering and launching Patent Hacks®.
